jeroMiE neidlinger is a Southern multidisciplinary artist who turns digital memory into physical objects. His ongoing series SEARCH, begun in 2002, takes the consensus “image” results for a single word such as “human,” “hero,” and “god” as raw material, printing and reassembling them by hand, then burying them in coffee, spray paint, and wheat paste until they appear decades old. The result fixes a fleeting global consensus in physical time.

neidlinger’s eye for large-scale communication began as a teenager hand-painting billboards in Dothan, Alabama. He went on to a thirty-year career in design and creative direction, founding the award-winning creative agency Primary Theory.

His fine art has been exhibited in Atlanta, Berlin, and California, and his earlier work was written about by critic Jerry Cullum in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Access Atlanta. He lives and works in St. Augustine, Florida.
